“Is a one-page website right for me?”
You’re a perfect fit for the One Page Dream Experience if…
You have published 1 - 3 books, or are preparing to query.
Your CTAs (calls to action) are all directly related to your books. Selling your novels, author newsletter, book signing events, etc.
You are not interested in blogging.
You are a better fit for the Comprehensive Showcase Experience if…
You have published 4+ books. Congrats!
Your CTAs are not all directly related to your books. Offering developmental edits, query package reviews, writing courses, etc.
You want to start a blog.
If this is you, click here to explore the Comprehensive Showcase Experience!
If you’re ready to query, and want to put your best foot forward…
If your literary team has asked you to improve your digital presence…
If your books have taken off, but your website still looks homemade…
Congrats! You’re in the right place!

“How Does The One-Page Dream Work?”
With the One-Page Dream Experience, you are not only receiving a branding package and website tailored to your specific literary goals — you are also invited to a fun and creative experience.
My mission is for you to receive as much joy during our collaboration as you’ll receive once your beautiful new site goes live.
Let’s replace confusion with delight, stress with ease, and drudgery with a touch of magic. Because you don’t just deserve a stunning website. You also deserve to have a bit of fun.
Welcome to the One-Page Dream.
-
Once you’re ready to start our adventure, your very first step is to schedule a consultation call with me.
This is our chance to get to know each other, answer any questions, and dive deep into your literary dreams.
I’m not just interested in building a website - I want to know where you see yourself in five, ten, twenty years. Who is your brightest self? Your most desperate dream? Your deepest literary desire?
Whether it’s writing a New York Times bestseller, buying a million-dollar home, or winning a Pulitzer, we are all here to dream big.
So let’s dream. You deserve a stunning brand that will grow with your career and a website that makes you feel like a million bucks. Because when you feel as bright and shiny as your dreams, it becomes that much easier to reel ‘em in.
-
After our initial call, you will be able to select a design date. Bear in mind, this date must be at least one month after our chat. Because before our week-long adventure can begin, you first have some exploring to do.
“Exploring? You mean, homework?”
Yes, but the fun, creative kind. Seriously, if you like journaling and vision boards, this might end up being one of your favorite steps!
First up is a questionnaire all about…you! We’ll have discussed your career and goals in our call, but this is a chance to dive even deeper. What is it that drew you to writing in the first place? What sort of themes do you explore in your novels? What sort of connection do you want to curate with your readers?
Second up, is a Pinterest Inspiration Board. This is a fun way to get the creative juices flowing. It also gives me a feel for the type of aesthetic styles you’re drawn to. There are a thousand ways to design a beautiful website; this board will be our north star as we craft a site that is beautifully tailored to YOU.
-
Once your questionnaire and Pinterest board are full of juicy thoughts and inspiring visuals, there is just one more step before our week begins. That’s right. It’s time for you, my lovely author, to write!
For while I shall design your website, its words belong to you.
As you craft your author bio or describe the amazing query courses you offer, remember to have fun. Be creative. And never forget you are telling a story.
This story will look different for everyone. Is yours a tale of heart-wrenching quests, moody thrills, or blue-skied escape? Even if you dance through a variety of genres, there is always an underlying flavor to an author’s career that we want to identify and enhance.
Don’t stress if you’re not yet sure what you want your website to say. Steps One and Two are designed to clarify both your literary goals and the specific story your website will tell. Plus, I will provide a template and clear structure to guide you on this process.
Ah, and let’s not forget - a website will look awful bare with no pictures! So if you want to get a new headshot, find those cute character sketches, or start digging through your computer for those candid-looking but actually carefully posed shots that show off your fun author personality, this is the time!
-
We’ve had our initial chat, clarified your goals, and you’ve crafted the words that will be placed on your site…now it’s time for our creative vision to take flight!
Come Monday, we will hop on a call to officially kick off our week. We’ll discuss your inspiration homework and content, ask and answer any questions that have arisen since we last spoke, and go over the design schedule.
After this meeting, you have one task and one alone - be responsive to emails!
This process truly is a collaboration, and the faster you can respond to my emails, the more we will be able to customize and refine this design to embody your dreams.
From the color palette to the final layout, I truly value your creative input. But getting that input becomes difficult if you’re on vacation in Tahiti with no internet service! So please make sure you choose a design week when you will have stable internet and the time to answer emails.
-
After our Monday call, I will get straight to work crafting your branding package.
I’ll start with a mood board, to ensure the flavor of the brand is heading in the right direction. Then I’ll craft a color palette and choose typography based on where your career is and how you want it to grow.
A strong brand has built-in flexibility to support an author as their writing style evolves. I’ll build this into your brand, and provide a walkthrough of how to adjust as your career progresses.
-
We’ve come a long way, every step meant to clarify and lay a foundation not just for any website — but a personally branded site that will support your long-term literary goals. Now as we enter the final stretch, take a deep breath and get ready! For it is finally time for me to craft your site.
Once your design is complete, I will share view access. This is your chance to request revisions. Perhaps you want to swap out a photo or adjust the wording of your newsletter invite now that you’ve seen it on the page. You’ll send me your requests, and I’ll craft the adjustments.
There is no limit to the number of revisions you can request except for our one-week timeline, meaning the faster you respond to my emails, the more rounds of revision we can accommodate.
This is our chance to fine-tune and add the polishing touches to your site, ensuring its final version shines bright!
-
We’ve done it! Traversed the creative chasms and scaled the strategic slopes! Now all that’s left is to share the results of our adventure with the world.
On Friday, we will hop on our third and final call. We will toast and celebrate, handle any last admin details, and launch your brand-new author site!
But never fear that I’m throwing you into the world of being a website owner with no safety net.
At the end of our time together, you will receive a personalized Squarespace training video that explains how to update your site. This will empower you to make changes to your website as your career progresses.
And if, in the future, you ever need my support, I am always an email away.
Until then, share your website with your friends, your readers, and your literary team. Open a bottle of something bubbly — you deserve it! — and toast our adventure with fondness.

8 Ways a Streamlined Structure Can Boost Your Author Site
In today’s digital landscape, an author’s website isn’t just a passive online presence—it’s a crucial part of their brand, their marketing strategy, and their ability to connect with readers. But what makes an author’s website effective?
A website’s structure plays a massive role. It’s not just about having a site; it’s about how easily visitors can navigate the site, how quickly they can find information, and how engaged they become with the author’s work.
Many authors assume a website with more pages is better. However, a one-page website offers numerous advantages that often get overlooked.
1. The Power of Simplicity: Less is More
One of the most significant advantages of a one-page website is its simplicity. A single page means visitors don’t have to sift through multiple sections to find the information they want.
When you condense the essential elements of your author brand—your bio, books, and contact information—into one page, the message becomes simple and direct. There’s no confusion about where to click or which section to…

This session comes in two parts.
First, is our initial consultation call. This is when we will begin to explore your literary goals and how to structure your new website to best support them. Afterward, you’ll be given homework to dive even deeper into what we discussed.
Once you’ve completed your homework, we’ll have even more data to get specific on strategy. I’ll review these new pieces and we’ll have our Monday Kick-Off Call, where we’ll polish up any loose ends and finalize our strategy for your site.

This package includes a mood board, color palette, and typography.
Mood Board: A mood board encompasses the general flavor of your brand and acts as a road map, ensuring we are moving in the right creative direction.
Color Palette: This customized set of colors will be tailored to your current books and writing style, with room built in for your career to grow.
Note: Your color palette will be used on your website, but it can (and should!) be used across other areas of your digital platform to create a cohesive visual brand. This may include social media, your email signature, and advertising graphics.
Typography: This includes a header and paragraph font. Similar to your color palette, this can (and should) be used across your digital platform. Why? Because trust is essential in creating a strong visual brand, and consistency is one of the pillars of trust.
-
Your personalized one-page website design will be hand-crafted to suit your literary needs — no templates or AI designs here.
Your website will consist of a single, streamlined homepage containing up to 50 photos and 2,000 words.
All aspects of your branding package will be carried across your design and built into the backend settings of your site. This ensures that any future editing or expansions will remain true to your visual brand.
-
There are several options for how we can integrate your social media onto your website. Some authors prefer to keep it simple with linked social icons in the site header or footer, while others prefer a larger section that showcases their latest posts.
Whichever category you fall into, we will ensure your social media is seamlessly integrated, allowing readers to connect with you on multiple platforms.

Search Engine Optimization helps search engines (like Google) understand what your website is about and display your site to relevant search queries. It’s one of those back-end tech things that is essential if you want your website to be shown in search results.
SEO optimization includes basic website hygiene such as image compression and mobile-friendly designs (more on that later). It also includes organizing keywords, alt descriptions, and metadata.
If you’re not familiar with these terms, no worries! I will make sure all of this is optimized for you. And if you are familiar with these terms, you can heave a sigh of relief that by working with me, you don’t have to deal with them!

These days, over sixty percent of the world’s web traffic is mobile. This makes it imperative that your website looks beautiful on computer- and phone-sized screens.
Most websites cannot simply be shrunk to fit on a phone - squeezing everything onto a tiny screen would make it too small to read.
Therefore in addition to your desktop design, you will received a mobile-friendly design that has been modified to fit on a phone screen.
-
A domain name is the www.authornamehere.com URL that you’ve chosen for yourself. Most clients I work with already own a domain, but if you need to purchase one I can walk you through the steps.
Depending on where you’ve purchased your domain, the process of connecting it to your Squarespace website can vary. Therefore we’ll work through the steps together to ensure everything gets connected properly.
Note: While I can help you purchase and connect a domain, the cost of buying a domain is not covered within the scope of this experience.
Most domains cost around $20 per year.
-
At the end of our design period, you will receive a personalized Squarespace training video. This tutorial will be recorded directly on your website, allowing me to walk through the details of how to edit each and every section of your site.
This way, if you want to replace a photo or update a quotes section a year from now, you can simply refer to your personalized video for step-by-step guidance.
-
While our journey begins with the consultation call, our official design slot starts on Monday and ends on Friday. During this week, my time is yours and yours alone.
Remember, this is when we’ll be doing the majority of our work and communication, so be sure you can be available to answer emails during this time!
